Release your inner Tarzan at the new Sure Ape Mann Adventure Park
Located in the heart of South Barrule plantation, the Sure Ape Mann Adventure Park has lots of exciting obstacles to tackle including zip wires, swings and scramble nets, as well as treetop trails and rope courses.
The park has been designed to be suitable for families, with child-friendly rope courses, off-road pedal go-karts, three zip wires and seventeen other challenges to tackle.
Roy Cottage is a Self Catering Manx holiday cottage, situated on the sea front, in Castletown, the ancient capital of the Isle of Man. Bringing news to the visitor of the Isle of Man.
There’s also the ‘Monkey’ tree climbing kit which can be adapted with a variety of harnesses to allow children as young as six years old to have a go, while still providing a great challenge for adults. The kits are proving very popular with people of all ages and the equipment can also be used for birthday parties, corporate events and team building.
Steve Salter, who has developed the Sure Ape Mann Adventure Park, said: “We are thrilled that Sure has chosen to become our sponsor. There really is something for everyone here and, as we are a private local business and not part of a franchise, we can be really flexible with what we offer the public. We really wanted the first part of the park to be something that all the family can do together. We have bought some of the best climbing gear you can get to ensure that the park is fun as well as safe. Over the coming weeks we will be putting in a 180m long zip wire through the forest and towards the end of the year work will begin on the high ropes course, so there’ll be even more to enjoy.”
Sarah Jarvis, Marketing Manager at Sure, praised the work that Steve and his team have achieved: “Steve had a vision to build an outdoor adventure park which could be used by people of all ages, encouraging them to get out into the fresh air and test themselves against some exciting challenges. I have heard some great feedback from kids and their parents, who were all keen to go back for another go. We will be working with Steve and his team to give our customers some great offers – so, if you’re with Sure, keep your eyes peeled!”
Sarah added: “One of the things that particularly attracted us to Steve’s project is that he hired NEETs to work for him – Manx youngsters who are ‘not in employment, education or training’. Under Steve’s guidance and encouragement these youngsters have learned great skills by working at the Sure Ape Mann Adventure Project and can look forward to a better future in the job market.”
Steve Salter commented: “Although this is very much a private venture it wouldn’t have happened without the support of Minister Phil Gawne from DEFA along with his team of officers. The staff at Building Control have also been a big help. So all in all we have come a long way in a short time but to get to where we want to be, there is still plenty to do! Keep in touch with us via our Facebook page, or just come out and visit us at South Barrule – we’d love to show you around.”
