Ride the Queenie Express for a great day out

Special trains have been laid on for this year’s Queenie Festival thanks to Isle of Man Railways. The 09:50 departure from Douglas and the 15:50 return from Port St Mary on Saturday 30 and Sunday 1 July will be named the ‘Queenie Express’ and will include a buffet carriage selling breakfast, snacks, drinks and more including Queenies!

Roy Cottage is a traditional seafront Manx cottage which has been lovingly restored as self-catering holiday accommodation. The cottage has been fitted out to a very high standard and every room has magnificent sweeping sea views

Tim Croft, festival organiser commented” The Queenie Express is another fantastic addition to the large number of attractions over the festival weekend, especially for anyone traveling from Douglas. The Steam railway is a great way to visit the festival and it gives people plenty of time to take everything in before heading home. It makes for a great day out.”

On arrival at Port St Mary train goers will be greeted on the platform where they will make their way to the quayside via Chapel beach and along the coastal catwalk.
